Happy Thanksgiving. (:

21-ness has been achieved. Last weekend and this weekend were/will be wonderful celebrations.
Apparently a trip to the Bourbon Trail is in the works, I'm so pumped for that.
Life has been super hectic, but I kinda dig it.
I planned a whole sorority function (my first!) and it's this Friday, so we'll see how it goes.
Next semester is looking to be wonderful.
Plus, I'm going to Las Vegas in May!

Jay-Z Concert - 4 days.
Where the Wild Things Are - 10 days.
Fall Break - 11 days.
21st Birthday - 12 days.
Halloween - 25 days.

These are just a few reasons that I love October.
Not to mention the fact that I can wear corduroys again !

I got my nose pierced; it's a ring not a stud, 'cause I think the studs are a cop-out.
Class starts next Tuesday! I'm really excited to continue with German and get further into Sociology.
Friday's my last day of 9 hour word days!
Sorority recruitment is in... three weeks. I'm pretty excited... but I kind of just want it over.

Everyone needs to read A Crime So Monstrous.
I read Memoirs of a Geisha too. I think Atonement will be next. I bought them both for a dollar!

I have a sudden affinity for exclamation points!
Um... my birthday's in 40-something days, HELLLLLO 21!

I am determined to find my Please Don't Kill the Freshmen book when I go home this weekend.
That used to be the shit.

edit ::
Still the shit.
Also, I used to actually utilize highlighters, and not just for school.

Oh yeah, I'm currently reading A Crime So Monstrous, a book about modern-day slavery.
What a good book combo!

Working 9-5! Well, I will be starting on Tuesday. I'm kind of excited, how lame. It's mainly for the money, but having something to do will be nice.
Lent my car to my brother for a bit, cause his is out of commission, so now I have no excuse not to ride my bike.
Florida in a week, which will be nice. It's a 15 hours drive, hopefully we can survive that.

That's about it.

I've tried to eliminate the many hours I waste watching bad television, and so far it's been going quite well. I like to watch House, Bones, and Grey's Anatomy. Occasionally I'll watch some TV late at night, when I cannot sleep, because apparently going to bed before 3am is never going to happen. I don't know why though. I get up for class around 8am or so, go to class form 9-11am, then come home and eat lunch, and just hang out. I try not to nap, because I know it ruins my sleep pattern. I have a Netflix subscription thing now, so give me movie suggestions, anything! I just got done watching the Savages, and it really made me sad. I don't want to grow up, and I certainly do not want my parents to age, they should just stay their same age and their same health, I would really like that. I'm reading a lot more too, since I have so much free time. I finished Maus I and Maus II last week, they were so good. It was such a different take on a story we have all heard (it's a graphic novel about a son telling his dad's story of the Holocaust). I'm reading City of Thieves now. The ladies at the bookstore highly recommended it, and so did my friend, so I am pretty excited about it. It's a humerous novel about the Holocaust, and from what I've gathered, it's loosely based on the author's grandparents' story. I have a large pile of books to read after that, so I should be set for a month or so. I'll get some suggestions later.
I finally found a job for the summer. I'm just going to be working over at school, as pretty much a secretary, misc. job for the Residence Life staff. It'll be 9am-5pm, M-F, so it'll take up a lot of time and earn me some money. There's also quite a few people staying in town for the summer, which I am so greatful for! It gives me plenty of people to potentially hang out with. Also, I think I may go see the Decemberists in August, I should check on those tickets...
Also, this summer will be amazing for movies! Finally, Harry Potter is coming out (um, more than 6 months after it was supposed to come out), the second Transformers movie is coming out, Public Enemies, Julie & Julia, Where the Wild Things Are (!!! the trailer totally hooked me, Arcade Fire! Dave Eggers! it's perfect), and plenty more! I also heard they were making a movie out of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, anyone else read that book as a child? I loved it. All the weather was food! The fog was split pea soup, giant pancakes covered the elementary school! It was a wonderful book.
I'm trying to start jogging too, a friend wanted me too, but it's been raining so much though! It's such a detterent. It's apparently supposed to get sunnier on Tuesday, so I'll try and start running some more. I want to go home and read all of my old journals, I want to laugh at how mundane and entertaining my life was. I want to learn from myself.

All I want to do is sleep, I'm tired and I got four hours of sleep last night.
I turn off the lights and try to go to sleep at 1:30am...
An hour later I am sitting in my bed, listening to my neighbor and his friends sing "Stronger" by Kanye West.
They're having a party on their deck, even though it's raining outside.
Really? Let's leave the door open and sing along to the four words we know in this song.

All I want to do is sleep.

Ratatat was amazing.
It was such an energetic show.
Some of the people around me were a bit much though.
It was was like couples central and I didn't get the memo.
One couple was literally making out the entire time, and in a very non-attractive way.
Death Cab is going to be in Louisville in March, but it was a little too much money for me, and the band they're with I'm iffy about, and I know the crowd will be too much.

I've worked through all the details, and I think I can graduate with a Math and Sociology major, and if I can go to Germany next summer, I'll have a German minor.
I still have no idea what I want to do with that, but honestly I don't care right now.

I started to read Maus last week and I love it.
I have to find someone who has the second one though, I'm almost done with the first!

This weekend I rekindled my love for going to the movies by myself, flip-flops, and "grandpa" cardigans.
& I did Capoeira for the first time. It was intense.
I did that on Saturday afternoon, and I'm still sore.
I think I want to start running...

Thursday, February 26, 2009

I'm going to see Ratatat in March, it was my Christmas present from my roommate, and I'm pretty pumped about it.
It makes me want to go to more concerts!

Give me suggestions on books to read/cds to listen to.
My spring break will consist of that, reading and listening to music.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

I have stacks of books to read, but classes are getting in the way.
I am interviewing my way cool neighbor about his sword collection this afternoon, for class.
One of my classes is so frustrating, but I think it's coming together now, I hope it stays that way.
I really wish it were spring break!
& that I had plans for spring break.
I think I wanna go to Canada...

Oh yeah, my mom sent me a bow of brownies yesterday, and it pretty much made my whole week, what a turnaround!

Crazy snow and ice storm on Monday night-Wednesday morning.
No class Tuesday or Wednesday.
Yesterday I had Thai food at 11pm.
I was so excited to find out they were open that late, and just right down the street from me.
One of my roommates moved out, and it was a grrreat celebration.
I have my own bathroom now.
But, we have to find a new roommate by March.

Here's pictures of my walls (and basically my whole room):

I took some pictures of my walls!
I'll upload them tomorrow.

The first floor of my apartment is practically gone, thanks to a pipe bursting over the break.
Our kitchen consists of a stove, fridge, and sink. No floor or cabinets.
Hopefully they fix it all soon.
I'm tired of being secluded to the second floor.
